Someone who can commiserate with me about WWOOF! Your Irish farm experience sounded like...an experience. And don't even get me started on artichokes. We got those nearly every day! Ugh. Never again. But like you said, the whole thing taught us a lot about hard work and PATIENCE, and now we look back on it and laugh. Ups and downs are part of traveling, right? Glad you found our story! And our camera info is in our FAQs section :)

Hah! I loved reading this story (and seeing your gorgeous pictures - what camera do you use?) because I can totally relate. I've had some awful WWOOFing experiences (and a few good ones) which I talk about here: http://dirtyvagrant.com/what-i-wish-i-knew-before-i-wwoofed/ WWOOFing can definitely be a mixed bag, and I'm not sure if I would do it again, either. Plus, it's often not even legal on a tourist visa (oops!), still, it did bring me to some beautiful places and teach me a couple awesome skills.

Thank you so much, Britt! So happy you found us. And you're so right, I really shouldn't let it discourage me so much. Every farm can be so different. But that said, it's still one of the top experiences of our trip so far!

hi! i just stumbled randomly upon this and loved your post! with so many travel blogs, i rarely take the time to read to the end. you write well and with a nice mix of honesty, self-reflection and humour. i'm looking at doing some wwoofing this summer - it will be my first time as well and now ill be extra sure to try to get some second opinions on the farms i'll be staying at.
that said - i know a number of people who have wwoofed all over the place and had a lot of great experiences with hosts! in some cases there are reviews of wwoof farms, or you can glean something from email communications. either way, you're bound to have better luck next time. don't let it discourage you from trying again some day! although, i hear ya on the month in tents... :)
